Exciting day! Light the Way is launched

Oct. 5 marked a spirited Founders Day, as the Light the Way campaign was officially announced. With a goal of $200 million, the campaign will transform this University, strengthening student access, academic excellence, and the tremendous impact of our programs.

On the morning of the campaign launch, Spartan students, alumni, staff, faculty and friends set up tables to give out goodies, T-shirts, brochures, and SWAG. Excitement was in the air.

In the afternoon, the festivities moved inside for the campaign launch celebration in the EUC’s Cone Ballroom. Hundreds of students and members of the campus community enjoyed cupcakes, giveaways, music, and great Spartan camaraderie.

As dusk arrived, a light installation on Kaplan Commons brightened the night. Each of the 1,800 lights represented 10 donors who’ve already made gifts to the campaign – 18,000 donors in all so far. Light displays on Jackson Library tower and on the eastern side of the EUC near the Minerva statue supported the theme of Light the Way.
